Annual Planning Session - Tuesday, July 5

Come one, come all for Troop 198's Annual Planning Meeting. Scouts are encouraged to bring their ideas for fun outings, meetings, camp-outs, fund-raising and more for the upcoming year. Parents are encouraged to bring your ideas as well and to offer your support to help plan and execute the activities. Your help is urgently needed to provide a fun and rewarding scouting program.

Troop Court of Honour & Parent's Night - Tuesday June 28

Troop 198 families and friends are invited to join us for our second quarter 2016 Court of Honour as we celebrate the accomplishments of the Scouts. Scouts please arrive by 6:45 pm.

2017 Jamboree (July 19 - July 28) Registration is Open

The 2017 National Scout Jamboree will be held from July 19 - July 28, 2017. The Laurel Highlands Council will be sending 8 troops to the National Jamboree, is your Scout included? Registration is open now! This is an exciting, over the top, scout experience at the 10,600 acre Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve which is adjacent to West Virginia’s New River Gorge National River area. Don't miss your chance to attend this high adventure event which is held only once every 4 years!!

Flag Day Ceremony, June 14th at Elks Club, Stoops Ferry Road

Come and help the Elks celebrate Flag Day by participating in their annual flag ceremony. Families are welcome to join us at this event as we learn about the history of the American flag. Scouts must wear their Class A uniforms and meet at the Elks at 6:00 pm. The ceremony begins at 6:30 and is open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony. There will be no regular troop meeting.

Life Scout, Robert Morrison will begin his Eagle Project soon and could use your help. He will be refurbishing the ceiling of the banquet hall of the Coraopolis VFW.

A new documentary on the National Geographic Channel highlights Gerald R. Ford, the man who is (at least so far) the only Eagle Scout to become U.S. president.
